Zi de iulie in 1902. Aflat la varsta de 1000 de ani, celebrul turn-orologiu din al bisericii St. Marcu (Campanile di San Marco) din Venetia se prabuseste zgomotos, totul devenind un dezolant morman de moloz.

Municipalitatea actioneaza imediat si planuieste reconstructia turnului exact pe vechea asezarea, impreuna cu alte cateva consolidari ale cladirilor inconjuratoare. Planul avea o deviza Come ere, dove era (pronuntie COM-aira, DOV-aira) – insemnand “Asa cum a fost, unde a fost”.

Anul 1912 aducea venetienilor un alt turn-orologiu, o copie fidela a precedentului.

Din punct de vedere al mostenirii istorice si culturale, reconstructia este fara nici o indoiala indreptatita. Dar care este paralelismul spiritual?

Natura Adevarului in Evanghelii este nechimbata. Contextul in care trebuie sa promovam acest adevar este in cotinua miscare, transformare. Evanghelia trebuei sa fie pe de o parte “asa cum a fost si unde a fost” iar pe de alta parte memru provocatoare in prezentare. Sunt sigur ca pliantele de prezentare ale ansmablului architectonic au capat schimbare de la reconstructia din 1912. Oamenii vin sa viziteze si sa se bucure de acelasi monument; sunt acompaniti de o alta maniera de prezentare care nu afecteaza nici structura si nici intelesul orologiului.
