Aceasta idei sunt prelucrate si transpuse intr-o maniera personala de  in cartea “Chasing the Wind: Finding Meaningful Answers in Ancient Wisdom

Ce putem invata din intelepciunea straveche? Este ea aplicabila in vremurile noastre?

Jurnalistul Robert White a castigat cu aceasta carte premiul Word Alive Press in 2010.

Cartea mi-a fost pusa la dispozitie de Word Alive Press si Graf-Martin Communications, Inc. Este disponibila spre vanzare in librarii(NordAmerica).

Ecclesiastes – a book about the reality of life without makeup, a set of answers about the meaning of life. Canadian journalist Robert White looked for what led the biblical author to express his thoughts in this way. Everything is meaningless… wisdom does not help much in life … sometimes wishes and aspirations are often founded on wrong motives and when you say something, find that you lose the essence. Depressing huh? In a society of changing values, The book of Ecclesiastes point out boldly some frustration.

This is a main idea processed and implemented by author in his book “Chasing the Wind: Finding Meaningful Answers in Ancient Wisdom”

What can we learn from ancient wisdom? Is it applicable in our times? Just 2 simple questions used by White as a starting point in his journalistic approach to find the hope studying Ecclesiastes.

The author of Ecclesiastes large dose of pessimism may come from the fact that his horizontal points of views about what is happening around does not overlap God’s perspective about life events. And what we believe being a loss is sometimes a gain.

“Meaningless”, “Blowing in the wind” (it’s good to have Bob Dylan’s song goes in the background) and “Under the sun” are the landmarks where the author structured his answers. His idea to seek hope in a book about the frustration of life can only be achieved by giving the position of Sovereign God for what happens everywhere in our existence.

Author’s insights are honest and predispose the readers to confront their ideas about life with God’s principles about  the meaning of life.

The book is easy to read, each chapter beginning with a scripture and ending with some questions that can be discussed or reviewed introspective.

The format is accessible and easy to carry.

I find it a good material for discussion. Structure prone to an interactive format of the study group (I will propose for next men’s meeting from the church).

By publishing this book Journalist Robert White won  the Word Alive Press Award in 2010.
