  • In prima parte incearca sa raspunda la intrebarea “Cine suntem noi?” folosind 3 capitole pentru a vorbi despre crearea noastra, caderea primului om si cum pacatul primar s-a raspindit in intreaga umanitate.

  • Pacatul este un factor universal si are o influenta dominanta;
  • Lumea nu isi gaseste o semnificatie in sine;
  • Intelesul si implinirea nu pot fi gasite in mersul lumii;
  • Ceea ce vedem nu este ceea ce Dumnezeu vrea sa fie;
  • Suntem restaurati pentru a tari prin si pentru Christos;
  • Isus este cea ma importanta persoana din intreaga istorie a umanitatii;
  • Prin crucea lui Christos ne este dat tot ce ne trebuie pentru a trai cu evlavie;
  • Ceea ce ne-a pregatit Dumnezeu in Christos ne permite sa traim pentru gloria Sa;

The contemporary Christianity has lost something what the Early Church had.
In contrast becoming more pronounced between message and practice with a strong acid and not always entitled critical, Christianity is not one of the most desirable religions of the earth. What happened and how can we do to comeback to power of primary Christian testimony?

Developing a solid answer to this question Dan Philips wrote a book as an audacious attempt to provide sufficient biblical reasons to each Christian person to promote and live a Christianity whose vitality cannot doubt anyone. The author identifies sensitive areas of our understanding, knowledge, and testimony and emphasizes the Truth tactfully presented into God’s message.

To achieve this author structured his argument (the shades of Calvinist perspective) in four sections:

In the first part he is answering to question “Who are we?”; using three chapters to talk about our creation, the fall of the first man and how the primary sin spread throughout humanity. I liked the image used by Philips to help the reader to understand the man “dead” in his sin. Imaginary walk through a morgue is very suggestive, none of there not going up on their own, everyone needing outside help.
In the second part he developed answers for “What God has done for us?”; talking about salvation and divine intervention of Jesus Christ.
A third section is about “How do we get?” emphasizing the justification made by Christ in front of His Father on our account/behalf.
During the final section of the book, the author is focused on practical issues that impact the ordinary life in the light of responses to the three previous questions.

“World-Tilting The Gospel” – is a book of popular theology easy understandable to any reader, reminds everyone how is God, and why do we are need Him.

The last chapter -14 – the reader finds in front of a sets of claims that may represent the tilting points to a real and devoted testimony for God Father:

God over everything,

  • Sin is a universal massive factor,
  • The world does not define its own significance,
  • Meaning and fulfillment cannot be found within the world,
  • What we see is not how God wanted it to be,
  • We are being restored to our intended being through Christ,
  • Jesus is the most important person in all history,
  • We have been given everything we need for godly living in Christ through the cross, and
  • God’s provision for us in Christ allows us to live to His glory.

I’ve read Dan Phillips’s thoughts on his personal blog – Biblical Christianity – and I really enjoy his involvement in Team Pyro blog (along with Phil Johnson and Frank Turk).

The book is very useful for the new believers and can consolidate the faith of everyone who is involved in Christian experience. Although dense in topics / themes biblical-theological “World-Tilting The Gospel” is not hard to read and contains various and balanced inserts.
